Peter is an international professional of the highest standing, well respected by professional, amateur and would-be players alike. A Ryder Cup player for 16 years, as well as a course designer, writer and teacher, Peter Alliss was voted by Golf Digest as the "best golf commentator ever".
He is known to millions around the world where his broadcasts are heard in over 50 countries. In addition, he has made well over 300 television programmes for the BBC. His sympathetic, endearing, and even idiosyncratic style has helped broaden the appeal to golf to an ever wider audience.
He is also an accomplished author of more than 20 books. He has written many magazine articles, and his open and forthright opinions are always diverting.
Peter's golfing credentials are extensive. He played professional golf for 23 years. During this time he won 23 tournaments including the Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese Opens. He also represented Great Britain eight times in the Ryder Cup.
He has been integrally involved with the structure of golf in the UK, presiding over both the Women's PGA and the British Greenkeepers' Association. In addition, he was Captain of the PGA twice.
To round off his golf expertise, Peter has also designed more than 60 fine and challenging courses around the world, including The Belfry Course in the UK, The Seve Club in Japan, and La Baule in Brittany.
